HALL OF FAME

Scientist innovator Y.Yugandhar Reddy, started Medha Servo Drives in 1984 as an R&D centric organistaion, delivering globally acceptable products to Indian railways. Today, it offers a wide range of products for the railways starting from simple speed recorders to entire locomotive control systems for both diesel and electric locomotives. Medhas motto of translating technology into innovative solution was demonstrated when it became the first company to successfully develop and install micro controller based system on the locomotives of Indian railways way back in 1989.

Most of the Indian CEO’s have their offices in corporate offices and once in a while, they visit R&D centre. But at Medha, YY Reddy has chosen to run his office from the design centre, making him easily accessible to the researchers, seniors and juniors. Heavy investment was made in the design centre, built over 4 acres of land in Hyderabad, occupying 20,000 sq ft of air conditioned space to for designers to work with latest tools and concepts. Heavy emphasis is placed on testing under simulated conditions, apart from test track a loco simulator was also used for testing.
