C-DAC, Thiruvananthapuram recently developed, Contact less Smart card engine (eSmart) customisable for a range of Smart Card based user applications. Mastering the proprietary Philips technology and algorithms, they have developed the following specific hardware products:

• Standalone Smart Card Reader/ Writer with or without local display and local intelligence.
• Network connected Reader / writer.
• PC interfaceable model (USB, RS 232).

These products have already been deployed and field proven in various applications such as Canteen, Library, Attendance, Access Control, etc. for the last year; They are now ready to effect a Transfer of Technology (ToT) to interested potential mfrs.

The ToT partner company can use the Smart Card Reader and Writer products, adding value to it by software application customization at their end. There are a multitude of applications (government, organizational, loyalty generation, etc. etc.) which can be effectively addressed using contact less Smart Cards, where ruggedness, reliability and cost are of prime concern.
